Jen, Design Director of CHENG﹣GUO DESIGN, demonstrates exceptional spatial integration skills in the residence “Subtle Interplay of Ink and Glow.” By thoughtfully removing the original partition walls, she created an open-plan dining and kitchen area while introducing a multifunctional room as one of the home’s core living hubs. This not only enhances storage capacity but also fosters emotional connection among family members, shaping a warm and vibrant domestic atmosphere. Her outstanding work has been highly praised by the jury of the 2025 My Favourite International Design Award, earning a spot as a finalist in the Residential Space category.

As Malaysia’s first and only international design award, the My Favourite International Design Award (MFID) has, since its establishment in 2013, attracted thousands of top design studios, architects, and interior designers from around the world to compete on the same stage. Guided by the principles of innovation, sustainability, and cultural fusion, MFID continues to redefine the future blueprint of spatial design and unlock the boundless possibilities of the design industry.


2025年,MFID主辦方iN Publishers徵集來自7個國家及地區的眾多優秀作品,由橫跨11國16位專家匯聚而成的評審團隊,以含括設計理念、美學表現力、功能性、永續實踐、文化脈絡等五大評選標準,對來自世界各地的參賽作品進行嚴格審核,致力於發掘並推廣兼具精湛工藝與前瞻創意的優秀作品,同時尋找設計界未來的璀璨新星。

In 2025, the organizer iN Publishers invited outstanding entries from seven countries and regions, which were rigorously reviewed by a jury panel of 16 experts from 11 nations. The evaluation was based on five key criteria — design concept, aesthetic expression, functionality, sustainability, and cultural context. MFID is dedicated to discovering and promoting exceptional works that embody both craftsmanship and forward-thinking creativity, while also recognizing the emerging stars shaping the future of global design.

公領域以白灰大板磚和灰泥塗料打造簡潔時髦基調,搭配深木色格柵、地坪及橘褐軟裝,營造溫潤放鬆感,佐以間接照明平衡現代與自然的氛圍,精美吊燈與壁燈增添視覺層次,塑造獨特混搭風格。

The public areas use large white-gray tiles and plaster paint to create a simple and stylish tone, paired with dark wood grilles, floors and orange-brown soft furnishings to create a warm and relaxing feeling. Indirect lighting balances the modern and natural atmosphere, and exquisite chandeliers and wall lamps add visual layers to create a unique mixed style.

客廳採黑白大板磚與木格柵雙層電視牆,前後材質拼接展現冷冽與柔潤的對比美學;圓弧窗畔設計則柔化立柱,增添空間流動感與趣味。

The living room features a double-layer TV wall made of large black and white tiles and wooden grilles. The splicing of front and back materials creates a contrasting aesthetic of coldness and softness. The arc-shaped window design softens the columns, adding a sense of fluidity and interest to the space.


餐廳選用石紋圓角餐桌搭配橘白雙色皮椅,與灰色板岩地坪、實木皮天花板相映成趣,洗鍊優美的幾何造型吊燈懸掛其上,增添藝術感,營造溫馨時尚的用餐氛圍。

The restaurant uses a stone-patterned rounded-corner dining table paired with orange and white leather chairs, which contrast beautifully with the gray slate floor and solid wood ceiling. An elegant geometric chandelier hangs above it, adding an artistic feel and creating a warm and stylish dining atmosphere.
